About Margie Bowen

Hi there!

I don’t know about you, but I like to know something about the owner of a small business before I work with them.  If you’re considering working with us you may want to learn more about who we are, the organizations we’re associated with, and how it all got started.

That way when you’re ready for a new or updated website, want to get found more often in searches, or need a team to maintain and care for your website, you’ll already know who to call.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to learn about the online needs of your business and how we can help your business thrive on the web.

Margie Bowen, Owner

Most of her life Margie has been a computer geek and has held computer-related jobs with insurance companies and software companies. And when she wasn’t working for a software company, she was still a geek in the company’s systems departments. However, Margie feels that becoming self-employed was the best thing she’s ever done because she can make a real difference in people’s lives now.

Margie enjoys working with small business owners, learning more about their businesses and, ultimately, helping them grow by developing their online presence. With 95 percent  of Americans owning cell phones and having instant access to the web, it’s more important than ever to keep websites up to date with technology.

Our objective at Webscape Design is to build your site and online presence and optimize them in such a way that you receive leads that you turn into customers. It’s a win-win situation; it’s rewarding for all of us!

Community Involvement

Margie is the Marketing Director and the Webmaster for the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. She’s also a member of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce. She regularly attends business networking groups and has made some great connections over the years.

Launched Chamber Networking Group

In February 2019 Margie spearheaded a business networking group for the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce. The purpose of this group was to provide a mid-day networking opportunity for members of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce who were committed to helping each other grow their businesses. The group encompassed members from the Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plymouth, and Wolcott Chambers of Commerce.

Continuing Education Teacher

Much to her surprise, given she used to be more of a computer geek introvert, Margie has also found that she enjoys speaking and giving web-related presentations to local organizations and networking groups. The Entrepreneurial Center at Northwestern Connecticut Community College hired her to teach a WordPress course with four classes to help local small business owners develop their online presence. She had over 30 students register for this class and   discovered she enjoys teaching and engaging with her students.

Cyclist and Dog Lover

Margie is a cyclist with a passion for mountain biking. She’s also a licensed USA Cycling Coach with specialty certifications in mountain bike instruction. On the weekends during the warmer months she’s often out on the trails where she coaches riders in safe and proper riding skills.

Her dog, “Bella”, is her companion on the trails, at the office and in the canoe. A  Bassett Hound and Catahoula Leopard Dog mix from Louisiana, she and her husband call her a “Bassahoula”. She runs like the wind and she’s the sweetest thing ever!
