About Margie Bowen - Webscape Design & Consulting, LLC

Hi there!

I don’t know about you, but I like to know something about the owner of a company before I work with a business. If you’re considering working with us you may want to learn more about who I am, the organizations we’re associated with, and how it all got started.

That way when you’re ready for a new or updated website, want to get found more often in searches, or need a team to maintain and care for your website, you’ll already know who to call.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to learn about the online needs of your business and how we can help your business thrive on the web.

Margie Bowen, Owner and Founder

Director and Continuing Ed Teacher
I’m an active member and Director with the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. I also regularly attend other business networking groups and have made some great connections over the years. Attending networking groups specifically for women in business has been especially rewarding and fulfilling.

I’ve also found that I enjoy speaking and giving web-related presentations to local organizations and networking groups. The Entrepreneurial Center at Northwestern Connecticut Community College hires me to teach WordPress courses to help local small business owners develop their online presence. Much to my surprise, given I used to be more of a computer geek introvert, I discovered I really enjoy teaching and engaging with my students.
Margie Bowen the Computer Geek
Most of my life I’ve been a computer geek and had jobs with insurance companies and software companies. And when I wasn’t working for a software company, I was still a geek in the company’s IT department. However, becoming self-employed was the best thing I’ve ever done and I never plan to go back because I feel like I can make a real difference in people’s lives now.

I enjoy working with small business owners, learning more about their businesses and, ultimately, helping them grow by developing their online presence. With 95 percent  of Americans owning cell phones and having instant access to the web, it’s more important than ever to keep websites up to date with technology.

Our objective at Webscape Design is to build your site and optimize it in such a way that it sends you the leads that you turn into customers. It’s a win-win situation; it’s rewarding for all of us! There’s no sense spending money on a pretty website if it’s not going to bring you any business. If your site isn’t optimized for search engines to get the best search results, it’s not likely to be seen.

Cyclist and Dog Lover

I’m a cyclist with a passion for mountain biking. I’m also a certified mountain bike instructor. On the weekends during the warmer months I’m often out on the trails in and around Burlington, Connecticut and throughout New England where I coach riders in safe and proper riding skills.

My dog, “Bella”, is my constant companion both in the office and on the trails. A Bassett Hound and Catahoula Leopard Dog mix from Louisiana, my husband and I call her our “Bassahoula”. She runs like the wind and she’s the sweetest thing ever!
